Undoubtedly, Nafplio is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece.Many centuries ago, this land of great beauty charmed Nafplio - son of Posidon and Amymone - when he arrived with his boat in the Argolic gulf.At this spot he founded the town that was named after him.Nafplios was said to have had many wives.One of them was Filyra, daughter of Ocean and Tithio.
Nafplio's distance from the outskirts of Athens is less than 2 hours.Touring the Old Town is a wonderful adventure, since most sights of the ancient and modern Greek history are gatherred here.Some of them are Syntagma square,Vouleftiko building and the churches of Agios Georgios(Saint George) and Agios(Saint) Spyridonas.
In this part of the town,just a few steps away from Agios Spyridonas square, we created with care and imagination Pension Filyra, and old building that we renovated and transformed into a comfortable, hospitable and romantic place.
The pension offers six spacious rooms,five double/triple suite-like rooms, and one loft which accommodates families with full kitchen facilities.They are all designed with their own names and characters: Emerald, Ruby, Coral, Diamond, Amethyst & Amber, precious names reflecting the quality of accommodation and colours used in the decoration.The perfect hospitality combined with a great view promises a time of leisure and relaxation.Have no doubt that the moments from Nafplio will be unforgettable.

Greece’s foremost cultural festival and one of the oldest performing arts festivals in Europe (1955), the Athens & Epidaurus Festival each year presents numerous theatre, dance, and music artists, acclaimed in Greece and worldwide, attracting large audiences from around the world. Epidaurus performances are presented every Friday and Saturday, from the beginning of July to mid-August. Starting hours: 21:00 for Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, 21:30 for Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus.
The annual NAFPLION FESTIVAL kicks off on June 29th and promises lots of music all the way through to July 8th. Already in existance for twenty seven consecutive years and being awarded as the best festival of its kind by the association of Music Critics of Greece, Nafplion Festival gives a good reason to visit Nafplion. Dimitris Kostouros, Mayor of Nafplion and the artistic director, the well known pianist Janis Vakarelis, welcome you in the festival’s 27th year, featuring a panorama of unique musical performances staged at some of the city’s major venues: VOULEFTIKON, the first Hellenic Parliament, AGHIOS YEORGIOS SQUARE, the courtyard of St. George’s church, AGHIOS SPYRIDON SQUARE and PALAMIDI CASTLE. NAFPLION FESTIVAL spreads its wings every year with more and more ambitious plans.
ARTIVA Cultural Management & Advertising under the support of the MUNICIPALITY of NAFPLIO and D.O.P.P.A.T is pleased to announce the launch of the 4th INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL that will take place in Nafplio on 15th -19th November 2017. The festival includes both singing competitions and festivals.
